Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 21st, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 following the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on July 21, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time, wanted to have her create Rihanna reference. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna had hired by Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was supported by EarthGang. In 2018, she appeared in two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles, titled The No One or Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019, a music clip was made available for the track. The track has received more than three millions views on YouTube within the debut week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
